All Spuffy fans welcome! :D

had a two-fold intent, which was to create a role model in the idea of a girl who's a genuine leader and the role model in a man who is not only comfortable, but turned on by that. (Joss Whedon)

Agree TTB - I think it was extremely fortunate for the series and the character that the creative staff had their Angel Away From Buffy vision.  The character was much more interesting and developed away from Sunnydale and the B&A lovers story.  You are right about when the character was a lot more interesting were with the history flashbacks and with the Angel/Angelus arc.

Here's the video from the Saturday's panel:

Yeah, Nick asked 'can I go back to the previous question?' and said that Angel was a boring character, at least on 'Buffy'.

I don't agree that Angel was boring on BtVS but I do think that he wasn't yet that well-developed as he was later on his own show, and that Spike was much better developed and more interesting as far as BtVS is concerned. Angel was locked into the love interest role too much and wasn't really getting his own story, though there were episodes where we got to see more of his backstory and more depth to his characterization (like the Becoming part 1 flashbacks or Amends) that set up AtS. Spike, on the other hand, was more of his own character rather than just a reflection of Buffy's story and his role in Buffy's life, and got a really great arc.

Great to see you posting TTB - hope all is well with you.

I hope that I get a chance to post the SFX article - again I was very disappointed with the artwork editor's choice on photos used.  From the photos you would think that Spike was an unimportant secondary character and not the most popular character along with Buffy of the entire Buffyverse.  Not one of the cast photos has Spike in it and of only two photos with Spike, a small one he shares with Clem.  The second photos of Spike features the makeup artists and James Marsters having his Vamp face being applied.

Angel, I'm surprised, is not featured all over the place as Buffy's Love for Ever - but B&A are still the Chosen Lovers in the section on Russell T. Davies and how the series impacted on the big success of the return of Doctor Who.

There is another section called "Buffy's Best Bits" and NOT ONE mention of Spike - if this writer and art editor don't think that at least one of the series "bes bits for Buffy is not their "...You're the one..." or their church scene where Spike drapes himself on the cross and ask's Buffy "can we rest now" I don't know how to understand their interpretation of the series.

I'm all for editorial rights and freedom of interpretation - but I take exception to how the Spike character was treated visually in this Buffy 20 Years edition.

After a quick look, the video you posted was the sunday panel :) There was another one on saturday, march 25th (this one was really crazy!).
I'm not at home right now, but I'll try to find you a link for the saturday panel if you don't find it before I do :)
Briefly (because I'm in a subway and this is not a very comfortable place, lol), Nicholas said he found Angel boring and implied that Spike was his answer, but I don't remember his exact wording. I think I have it on video though.

Hm, having seen the whole video, the part with 'Bangel or Spuffy' was not in it.

Thank you, Miss Kitty. You say, four cast members. Nick Brendon say anything on the matter?
