Stoney -

I am referring to The Dark Place mini series with Spike and his journey to the dark side of the moon along with Seb and the alien insects.  I was not going to buy it but I decided to go ahead since I love the portrait of Spike that was featured on the cover.

I love the original art of Spike and Seb and Frisky.  I totally fell in love with his alien bug friends and Seb.  Poor Irene - loved them both in the fantasy beach scene they put together to make Spike feel better.

What 'Dark Side mini' is that Cil?

Will just have to see how it goes but frankly I am not especially interested in young Buffy and the Scoubs but a one shot might be nice.  I like the cover and the artwork.

The idea of any continuation of this series - this is something that I personally don't care for - it's a totally different time period for the series and all the characters why bring it back now that all the characters have lived through that period?  It would be different if there had not been all these years of the series continuation in the comic book season - and Dark Horse still has all the Twilight Times baggage so what are they going to do with the Buffy-Angel relationship if this does develop into a series?

I sure as hell don't want to have to spend additional funds for another Buffyverse comic book.  I broke down and went ahead with the purchase of the Library Edition for A&F that features Spike on the cover and that includes the Dark Side mini - like all the Library Editions it is very nice.

Thanks Lulurose. I had read about this over at Slayalive and other places, but did not have got me to post it over here. Generally I'm not a fan of the manga style but I've got to say, what I've seen of the art so far looks nice. That will be my reason to give it a go (couldn't care less about canon :-)

Here is the shot BAF put on BF....

I've seen one shot of the cover that has Joss on as Exec Producer, so it is a canon one and hopefully they will have given some thought to continuity clashes.  I'll give it a go when it comes out for sure.

I got this from Slayalive. I didn't see it posted anywhere else, so if I'm doing a "repeat," my apologies. Apparently there is going to be a comic that tells more of Buffy's early high school experiences as a slayer after she came to Sunnydale. There was some question over whether or not it is "canon," but, going by the article, Joss is at least aware of it-and certainly must have at least signed off on it, I would think.

The writer and the artist are both female-young, of course, and the writer was a big fan of "Buffy" growing up.

Oh, I loved the bugs. I think that was one of the most creative things they did-and I think it worked. I wish that they had just had them go on off to find a home of their own, and kept it like they could always return to help Spike out. As for the artwork, it's great! Much better than some of the work we've seen that the "pros hired to draw the Buffy and Angel comic have done.

I suppose this should go in the S9 discussion, but I just wanted to put it here for more attention -- a very lovely hand-drawn artwork of Spike with the bugs, Frisky and Sebastian (via SU Herald):

That's exactly how I see Angel and Spike relationship. Maybe it's a bit unconventional, but I really took it from the canon! Updated version of the previously posted vid with some fixes (aspect ratio mostly).
